Jacob Finkel
Hi everybody, my name is Jacob Finkel. I am the proud host and co-creator of Fearless Interventions with my best friend Max Alperstein. I was born in Boston, Massachusetts, and raised in a suburb city right outside of Boston called Newton. I was also born, raised, and taught to be a proud Jew no matter what. I am a senior at Newton North High School and about to graduate and head off to the next chapter of my life.
At home, I work a weekend job, compete in track and field for my high school, and participate in clubs at school. Unfortunately, at a public school, there are few opportunities to participate in a Jewish community that you genuinely enjoy. Because of Max, Fearless Interventions is one of the few ways I can connect and participate in a Jewish community. I also go to a Jewish summer camp where I feel deeply connected to my Judaism.
When we first started Fearless Interventions, we wanted to shoot for the stars, and seeing our growth has been excellent. It was amazing to see us get closer and closer to that goal. We wanted to share many diverse perspectives and stories from a younger Jewish perspective, even through all the antisemitism. Max and I have both experienced antisemitism in our lives, and I think the best way for one to fight it is to educate the uneducated or poorly educated. With the help of my best friend and the platform we have created, I think it’s safe to say that we have successfully helped our communities and will continue to do so. I always spread love, not hate, so tell someone you love them.
